Shavuot is the last festival in the Jewish liturgical calendar and falls on the 6th and 7th of the month of Sivan.

In Greek, it is translated as Pentecost and is celebrated 49 days after Passover (Pesach), with an intermediate celebration called Lag BaOmer.

The festival commemorates the giving of the commandments to the Jewish people at the foot of Mount Sinai. It is a major religious holiday and is also associated with the harvest season.
